How to Make your Wedding a Success!

Updated: Aug 30, 2023

Weddings are special moments that require a ton of work! That is why we wrote this quick guide for your big day. As a professional wedding company we have seen the ups and downs on the big day that can happen. To not waste your time let us get right into it.

1) Choose a date!

At minimum narrow it down if your planning far in advance. You cannot contact venues or your local DJ without knowing a date as they might already be booked. This leads me to my next point

2) Plan in advance

Do not wait last minute to book the biggest items. Biggest meaning your venue, your entertainment, your food, and certainly not your dress and tuxedo! 1 year out or more is ideal for the venue. The DJ if a good one will be booked out a year in advance as well. Note if you are within 6 months it is crunch time for hiring your DJ. There are plenty of great DJs left. We personally recommend Marley Music & Photobooth LLC as they have been in the business for over 10 years and can do both English and Spanish events. If booked do not be discouraged as there are plenty of local companies in the Tippecanoe Area that are available.

3) Know how many guests you're having

Make sure you make a detailed list of all the people you are inviting. Note 90% of the time not all guests will show up. There might have been a flight issue, they might just always be late, or something else God forbid happened. You still should know how many guests you're having roughly. This can be done with planning which venue to get as they will ask you this.

4) Do not be afraid to customize

What we mean by this is that we have been to many weddings and one of the biggest concerns from brides or grooms is the following: What order should we do the cake cutting in? What order should we do our toast? Etc. People worry too much about what order to do those things in but in reality you should do what feels right to you. Our Tippecanoe DJ company Marley Music & Photobooth LLC find guests and family to be happier when you personalize the wedding. If you have a family tradition this would be great. If not do not sweat it as the traditional route is also very beautiful and frankly it works! Be open to ideas as they will only make your wedding that much more memorable.

5) Speak to family

Ask them who they hired and what information they thought would have been helpful. Sometimes your venue or someone you are contracting for the wedding might give you referrals to companies they thought did an excellent job.

These are our top 5 things to watch out for to make your wedding day a success. In the end please do not stress about it. Speak to professionals who see weddings every week or month. They will help guide you. We appreciate your time and if you are interested in more blogs please visit our site www.marleymusicandphotobooth.com
